Puss In Boots:The Last Wish Review
I just watched Puss In Boots:The Last Wish and it was amazing and definitely one of my favorite all-time newest animated films, since it’s like a impressive, amazing step-up from the original 2011 movie and the best film in the Shrek franchise since Shrek 2 due to it’s unique, colorful CG animation style and visuals that feels like being a stylized fairy tale illustration,it’s brings a lot of thrill, wonder, comedy, and emotion than like any other movie in the Shrek franchise, the action and fight sequences are just so perfectly done in a Spider-Verse like manner with the frames being slowed down a bit. the characters are just so great and fun to watch(Puss In Boots is still his lovable arrogant swashbuckling hero like self,Kitty Softpaws is still awesome,Perrito is a really great funny comic relief and good friend to both Puss and Kitty,Goldie and the Three Bears are wonderful characters with a amazing sympathic backstory and redeemable qualities,Jack Horner is a really hilarious and fun villian to watch and the best Shrek baddie since Fairy Godmother from Shrek 2,because he is the type of villian we all love to hate(a straight up irredeemable bad guy who takes pride and joy in his villiany and vile deeds, loves every minute of it,has a backstory that shows how despicable he’s become given that he’s been losing his pie business to Pinocchio for years as a child, tends to collect magical artifacts, even going far to make his wish to become the most magical person in the world),and The Wolf/Death is a really badass and cool villian who is willing to kill Puss with two sickles for wasting his last 8 lives earlier and he is the example of what happens when people come close to death and he comes around to kill those who are close to the verge of taking their lives, bringing them fear and anxiety, but he eventually begrudgingly gives up and decides to spare Puss at the end of the movie. Also,Some of the jokes are just so funny and memorable such as the montage of Puss losing 8 of his lives in many dangerous and unfortunate ways(such as getting run over by one of the bulls, eating shellfish, getting burnt alive by the oven while baking, getting attacked by dogs in poker due to having five aces, falling off a building while drunk, crushed by a dumbbell, and blown up by a exploding cannon),Perrito trying to do a cute face without getting a hernia,Jack Horner’s backstory on his envious childhood rivalry with Pinocchio that made him become so incredibly vile the way he is,the “Just Right”running gag,and the ever-famous scene where the Ethical Bug(a parody of Jiminy Cricket)call out Jack on his villiany and letting his fellow minions die without any remorse(Your Horrible!,Your A Irredeemable Monster!). Also, aside from the new character additions to the franchise, the humor, action, and fairy tale fun,and the unique, impressive art style, this movie made my love for the Shrek franchise grow even more and this film brought back the charm and interest of the first two films that made Shrek such a groundbreaking icon in the world in animated films, also,I love the teaser at the end of the movie, which possibly explains we are definitely in for a Shrek 5 in the future or probably a spinoff film involving Donkey in the works. I actually consider Puss In Boots:The Last Wish and The Bad Guys to be my all-time favorite DreamWorks animated movies in 5 years since Captain Underpants and The Boss Baby. The film tells us when your on the verge of losing your lives, you don’t need a wish to do it and you can still live your life to the fullest while being so fearless. Score:10/10
I still look back and watch clips of LH sometimes.
Even I’ve given up on Loud House after Schooled! and The 2021 Netflix movie, along with knowing that Nick is milking the franchise now(much like SpongeBob(through it escaped seasonal rot after Season 8)),the series’ writing and charm had declined by Season 5 and finding that some of the episodes Seasons 5-7 weren’t as good as the first four seasons, the series’ grounded,slice-of-life charm was ruined due to cartoonish elements thrown in that felt out of place,Lincoln becoming even more of a punching bag in these seasons,Lynn becoming a even more aggressive jerk than before, characters like Flip,Scoots,Chandler(who is reverted back to being a bully to Lincoln in Season 5,ignoring his character development back in Jeers for Fears, and becoming a even bigger jerk than usual),Mr.Bohelfner, and Cheryl given more screentime in the later seasons, and the Age Up The Louds thing was unnecessary(which Chris Savino didn’t approve of according to a Q&A car video). I still look back at the show by watching clips of the first four seasons and consider Seasons 5-7 non-canon. Plus,I feel and regretted on the animation here, since starting in Season 4 was a bit of a impressive step-up from the first three seasons, with the squash and stretch flash animation being somewhat more bouncier and fluid that before and the characters given a little change/redesign. Also,Lily’s plot was the only good thing I liked about the Schooled episode, even I consider the episode, the 2021 movie, and the episodes after it,non-canon(same for the Disney Channel/Disney XD cartoon,Star Vs. The Forces of Evil’s,which I also consider episodes after Battle of Mewni non-canon as well). Also,I think I need to watch The Really Loud House,it does have some good things in it,fleshed out some of the characters and jokes, being less mean-spirited,and looks a lot better than the actual series and I also think I need to watch The Casagrandes spinoff too as well. I still love the Loud House despite it’s seasonal rot and becoming a cashcow for Nick, alongside SpongeBob,and consider it one of my favorite modern Nickelodeon cartoons, next to Glitch Techs,Rise of The TMNT,Big Nate,Middlemost Post,Harvey Beaks, and It’s Pony. P.S. For those who hate the Loud House, please respect my opinions on it.
Animaniacs(2020) Review
Since I finished watching the final season of the Animaniacs reboot on Hulu,I would say after 22 years,It's nice to see the Warner kids and Pinky and The Brain again after being in semi-retirement since the 1999 original movie that concluded the original series,Wakko's Wish, back for more zany antics and crazy world-domination schemes in a brand new reboot series of three whole seasons on Hulu and the Animaniacs reboot has definitely become my all-time favorite cartoon reboot now, along with DuckTales(2017). What I liked about the reboot is the idea of having the Warners come back to the studio after being put in exile for 22 years and dealing with the changes and attempting to adjust and struggle to fit in modern times, which they begin to improve and try to bring their zany antics and skills to the 21st century, along with dealing with a new female CEO of WB Studios,Nora Rita Norita(who has become one of my favorite cartoon boss characters and I find her more attractive, funny, and
Happy New Year's Eve and looking back at 2022.
Happy New Year's Eve Everyone and I hope you all stay up late tonight to watch the ball drop to 2023. Looking back at 2022,I would I say this year had been hit or miss for me,while I do enjoyed a few things that came out this year like Smiling Friends,Cat Burglar,The Cuphead Show,Turning Red,Chip n' Dale:Rescue Rangers(2022),Scream(2022 Reboot),Zootopia+,Baymax,Scrat Tales,Guillermo Del Toro's Pinocchio,Matilda:The Musical,Top Gun:Maverick,Dead End:Paranormal Park,I Am Groot, and Hocus Pocus 2 and this year also marked the end of three popular cartoon series that ended on a good note:Nickelodeon's Casagrandes,Disney Channel's Amphibia, and PBS' Arthur, the year brought out the best in Sonic The Hedgehog and Cuphead, and it also marked a change in the animation industry with the #newdeal4animation movement. There are many bad things I've had witnessed this year and it was not very good to me: This year,I really brought out the worst in ArceeStar2022 and made him have a horrible year since
